The Watergate Hotel was a complete renovation of the 277,000 square foot building. It is one of five buildings that comprise the Watergate complex and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The renovation project included demolishing and fitting-out the interior of the 13-story, unoccupied building. High-end luxury finishes were installed throughout, most coming from overseas. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were replaced.

Among the amenities in the new five-star, 348-room hotel were two restaurants (one with a terrace), two ballrooms with substantial structural work, a rooftop lounge, indoor pool and five new large terraces. The exterior was largely unchanged due to the building’s historic status. However, all of the windows were replaced and concrete balconies were repaired and painted.
